teenagers abducted and sexually assaulted. this morning police have two men in custody. the magic continues and so does the nail biting. the o's beat the rays. they stay alive in the a.l. east. we'll, of course, have more on the o's coming up on this wednesday morning. good morning and thanks for joining us, i'm megan pringle. >> i'm charley crowson. we'll start with weather and traffic in just a moment. first we've got some school closures and delays to tell you about. >> yeah. we do want to let he know kent county, queen anne county are on a 90-minute delay this morning, that is because of the fog, which is clearly the big story right now. and in queen anne county, there's no morning pre-k. >> you've been watching us throughout the morning. it's bad out there. >>reporter: it's awful out there. i had trouble coming in from bel aire this morning. there's reduced visibility across the region and we do have some problems in hartford county. there's a fallen tree that has actually shut down a portion of hartford road. i'll have more on that coming up in just a bit. lynette, i hope this ends soon. >> it's not going to be soon. we have a dense fog advisory

until 8:00 and until then we have fog across the area. let's continue to tawblg about this fog because we do have less than, in a lot of spots, visibility quarter mile, so it's bad out there this morning. you can see these numbers right now. as we look on the eastern shore, seven miles of reduced visibility and that's why they do have some delays across that area. so with all the foggy conditions, we do have a dense fog advisory until 8:00 for these areas here shaded in the gray color, so once again we're still talking about cecil county, also hartford county, baltimore county, even the city and anne arundel county. and this will continue even as we go through the morning, even after that expires we'll still have some foggy conditions out there. now, as we go into the afternoon, we will get a few peeks of some sunshine, a little bit of break in the clouds, but it's going to take a while for that to happen. we look at maryland's most powerful radar as of now, and we can see that lone shower still pushing off towards the north and east, but it is around el kton at this time. so if you are traveling that

way, take it easy on the roadways. not only are you dealing with the patchy fog, the dense fog, you will also be dealing with some wet roadways. temperatures this morning, that's the silver lining, we're quite mild, leave the coat at home as you head out and about. 67 in churchville. let's get a check now of the abc 2 time saver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. that fog is causing so many problems for you. >>reporter: yes, lynette. you will want to expect reduced visibility across the region. it's really bad in hartford county and we do have a fallen tree on hartford road between 152 and record road. if you are traveling in the area, stick with bel aire road instead. if you are using 95, there are no delays from bel aire down to white marsh. you're looking at a 15-minute ride right now heading into the city. here's what it looks like downtown at 395. you'll notice a lot of fog in this region. so slow down. it's extremely important to do so because it's really going to be bad out there. you're looking at the beltway right now in towson, just west of york road, everything up to speed. again, fog going to be an issue, but no delays as you do

head up to 83. and the west side of the beltway will remain clear from 795 down to 95. megan and charley, over to you. let's go o's 191 games since the major league baseball season and with just one game left on the books today, still so much to be determined in just nine innings of baseball. the o's are still a game behind the yankees in the american league's eastern division race and they're now looking to close that one-game gap tonight in tampa. last night the o's won by the narrowest of margins, 1-0, only producing two hits on the night against the ray's james shields. that lone run came in the top of the 4th when chris davis launched a bomb. the straightaway center 444 feet and now let's check in with christian schaefer who filed a report from tampa. we do not have that story from chris right now. we may have it a bit later for you on "good morning maryland." but here's how things shake out, a lot of teams, very close right now in the race, but for the orioles, it's really

feel safer this morning. it turns out truck 10 will stay open after all. there was serious talk, you may remember of shutting it down. that's because the city, they said they didn't have the money to keep it open. well, the mayor says she found money from taxes and tickets from the grand prix, so for now truck 10 will be staying open. police said it wasn't their fault, witnesses say it was murder and now a medical examiner's report is out calling the death of an east baltimore man a homicide. let's go now to sherree johnson who is live this morning with the latest details on this report. sheree. >>reporter: injuries for anthony anderson, you know, from rib injuries, fractured ribs, injuries to his spleen and internal bleeding. this morning three baltimore city police officers remain on paid leave. this incident happened on september 21st. anderson's family says he came out of a bar on east bidle street when he was confronted by police officers. his mother, son, daughter and 2- year-old granddaughter were there. initially police said that

anderson tried to swallow drugs. police would not speak on camera, but they confirmed drugs were not a factor in anderson's death. >> it was told to us that they laughed and thought it was funny and when they were told that tony was complaining of hurting, they said he was faking because he didn't want to go to jail and that's not true. >> people get taken down in the streets everyday, people don't die, they don't have their spleens ruptured. >>reporter: there's no word yet if the unnamed city police officers will be charged in this case. meanwhile, the family's attorney says that he plans to file a civil lawsuit. and communy activists also say that they plan to hold a protest later this week at the state's attorney's office if charges are not filed against the officers. reporting live in downtown baltimore, sherree johnson, abc 2 news. 6:06. in baltimore county police have arrested two men in connection with a series of recent abductions. this morning there is now new details and new information you need to know about.

abc 2 news' linda stow is live at the baltimore county police headquarters with the very latest. linda, what can you tell us? >>reporter: we've learned who the suspects are. police have identified them as 21-year-old kenyon waller and 25-year-old william campbell, both of baltimore. the men are being held without bond this morning at the county detention center. police say the men abducted several victims from bus stops in baltimore county and the city. the first two cases involve teen girls who were abducted from a bus stop in catensville, held at gunpoint and sexually assaulted. just the other day police say the suspects abducted a man and a woman near the mta bus stop on liberty heights in the city. the man was able to get away pretty quickly, the woman was robbed and then let go. >> very traumatic and it's also very scary that you can't stand on the street corner to get a bus and not feel safe. >>reporter: now, police believe there are more victims out there who have yet to come forward. if these cases sound familiar to you, please call police in baltimore county or the city.

maryland." late head up to new york city for today's tech bytes. >>reporter: in today's tech bytes, samsung wins a round, a u.s. judge lifted a temporary ban on sales of the galaxy tab 10.1 tablet. in the u.s. apple is still seeking a permanent ban burks this will allow samsung to sell the 10.1 for the holidays. meanwhile, samsung is still the leader in the u.s. smart phone market, but apple is quickly catching up. samsung's market share in august stayed flat while apple posted some big gains. blackberry and windows are continuing, though, to lose ground. in a few years the printed textbook may be as outdated as flash cards. education secretary arnee duncan says the u.s. should move away from the hard copy text as soon as possible. he says it's necessary if the u.s. wants to keep up with other countries. and high tech gloves mean you won't have to go bare handed to use a smart phone outdoors this winter. the glove has a speaker and

you're looking at a live picture right now of atlanta, georgia. they saw some severe weather overnight. we want to show you video right now from suwannee, georgia, which is about an hour northeast of downtown atlanta. look at that. this is what it's like all across the metro area, rain, wind, thunder, lightning, they saw it all, flood waters. they covered the roads and bridges like you see right there. >> we're dealing with the aftermath of the rains here. nothing quite like that, lynette. fog also a big issue. and as a result of that we've got some closures and delays on the school front. megan. >> yeah. kent county, for example, they're on a 90-minute delay, so queen anne's county also on

a 90-minute delay, cecil county two hours and in queen anne's county and cecil, they have no morning pre-k and this is because of the fog. >> this is not going anywhere anytime soon. >> this is not going anywhere anytime soon. the areas that are not under the dense fog advisory, still getting fog out there. so the fog is widespread this morning. take it easy on the roadways. it's going to be just an absolute mess. also we did have a couple of showers in hartford county and also cecil. that is now beginning to move off towards the northeast but we still are under a huge cloud deck this morning and all this once again is courtesy of this system that came up from the south, that got all the flooding in georgia yesterday, that story we just told you about, and this is going to continue as we go throughout the day in terms of the cloud cover. now, we'll see a few breaks in the clouds, that's for sure, but it's going to take a while for this fog to burn off as we head through the remainder of the morning. temperatures, this is the silver lining because we don't need the jacket as you head out and about this morning.

we are so mild. 73 degrees right now in annapolis, 74 in chestertown, upper 60s in elkton, federalsburg mid-70s. as we look to the west across westminster, 67 degrees there, more of the same in iamsville. 69 in colombia. so this is the culprit, this is that storm system that's been bringing all the unsettled weather across the area. and we are in the warm sector. that's between the cold front and the warm front. the reason why we got some showers this morning, well, that warm front pushed through the area. it's going to continue to do so as we go through the morning hours. then we're going to be waiting for this cold front to move in as we go through tomorrow. so with that i'm still going to keep the chance for maybe an isolated shower or storm by tomorrow, and then for the weekend another cold front slices through. that's what's going to be bringing some very cool air. now, future trend picking up on some scattered showers as we go through the afternoon today, but mainly we will get a nice break of dry weather, although it's going to be very humid outside once again. and then as we head into

thursday, another chance for is this is that cold front that's going to be moving through. it will be wet. so have the rain gear for today, also tomorrow. you can put it away on friday because it's going to be absolutely gorgeous outside. this is what we look like as we go through your hour-by-hour forecast. lunchtime coming in right around 82 degrees. yes, those temperatures will be bumping up, 85 degrees is what i'm going for, a high today. it is going to be a warm day on tap in between the warm sector. so this is what's going on in terms of your seven-day forecast. as you see, a nice cooldown after friday with plenty of sunshine in the forecast. by the weekend, the end of the weekend, we're looking at 60, columbus day 62. these temperatures well below average. let's get a check now of the abc 2 time saver traffic with lauren cook. dense fog causing all types of headaches this morning. >>reporter: yes, lynette. the fog is really having an impact on the commute. we're dealing with several accidents across the region. there's trouble now in anne arundel county where there's a crash right along the eastbound lanes of route 100 at katherine avenue. all together you're looking at a 24-minute ride right now,

traveling eastbound from colombia pike all the way to edwin brainerd boulevard. we do have more trouble in west baltimore, a crash on edmondton avenue at poplar grove street. the fog the main concern as we comek in and take a live look downtown on 95 at 395. you'll notice the reduced visibility. travel fine through tunnels. here's what the beltway looks like in parkville, a lot of reduced visibility here at hartford road. no problems getting up to 83 or if you are traveling inner loop down towards 95. that's a look at your abc 2 news time saver traffic. megan and charley, over to you. this morning's health alert for you, if you take vitamin d at the first sign of a cold, you may be wasting your time. a study out of new zealand suggest that vitamin d supplements don't reduce the severity of a cold, however, there may be a benefit to some people. >> a lot of the vitamin d we produce is related to sun exposure and for people who never get in the sun, are aging
